‘This Is A Song’ encapsulates everything The Magic Numbers are about- gentle sounds that build up into stomping rhythms and sweeter than pop melodies. But this tune has a little more bite to it than their previous releases. A strong drum line underpinning guitars and vocals that are a little heavier in places adding more depth to the sound give this song a more mature slant to the music; and the instrumental version proves that as stand alone musicians these guys are pretty good. ‘This Is A song’ perfect for fans and even better for coaxing the rest into loving The Magic Numbers.
