As we all know, Liam Frost is a very talented singer-songwriter. ‘She Painted Pictures’ glimmers with a relaxed, shimmering beauty – laden with attractive harmonies, an array of plinky-plonky instruments and acoustic strumming. But, as always, it really doesn’t seem like anything new. Sure he’s got a great voice and oodles of talent but he also sounds just like the even more eccentric and even more appealing, Duke Special. B side ‘(Are You) The One I’ve Been Waiting For?’ is rather inferior, with an unusual backing track and out-of-sync, overly mournful vocals. It’s not exactly talent gone to waste, but there’s a nagging sense that Mr Frost could do so much more.
