To describe the music of The Earlies in a word, ‘unique’ would be the obvious choice as this double A-side single proves. ‘No Love In Your Heart’ begins with gentle classical strings which gradually turn into an electro style number that wouldn’t have gone amiss in an 80’s night club. Think thumping beats, electrical pulses and light melodies, think new age meets Kraftwerk meets dreamy vocals and you’ve got something that makes a refreshing change. ‘Breaking Point’ in comparison has a more ‘Strawberry Fields’ feel to it with Indian melodies set to a steady drum beat and sounds you might encounter tripping through space. The only criticism with this track is that lacking in lyrics means it drones on far too long and this kind of industrial tripping doesn’t work in instrumental form. This release is certainly very different to those on the current scene, but when it boils down to it, ‘No Love In Your Heart’/‘Breaking Point’ are two songs you’ll either love or hate.
