The Little Ones are great because they’re so unpretentious. They play wonderfully sunny pop music that doesn’t claim to be doing anything controversial or necessarily groundbreaking. It’s effortlessly easy to listen to, and can brighten even the darkest winter night. First track, ‘Lovers Who Uncover’ is reminiscent of the Arcade Fire, whereas you cannot fail to be uplifted by the brilliantly optimistic B side, ‘Cha Cha’. Its interesting drum beat and unusual guitar effects only add to the song’s quirky appeal. Catch them when they support The Boy Least Likely To in January for a night of happy, easy-going pop tunes.
