There's an inherent problem with side projects - you never know whether you're getting the real deal or just some scrapings and half-baked ideas left over from the main event. If you need proof, just look at Thom Yorke's recent solo mumblings for a good example of stuff that should've been left on the studio floor. So it is with Eagles Of Death Metal, Josh Homme's slightly more whimsical spin off from desert rock behemoths Queens Of The Stone Age. 'I Got A Feeling (Just Nineteen)' is, at best, a two-line chorus and one decent guitar hook stretched over three and a half minutes, making it simultaneously podgier than the stripped back QOTSA sound and leaner on actual decent content. Like any fling with a nineteen year old, it's fleetingly fun but ultimately lacking in depth.
