The latest release from Manchester ‘it’ label High Voltage, intense Leicester outfit Redcarsgofaster look to impress. Things get off to good start with ‘24 Passes’ sounding like The Longcut with an edgy Gang of Four on bass. So tense, it sounds ready to crack, and is imbued with a distinct Manchester sound. ‘House of Flies’ has the same level of urgency with a rousing Hundred Reasons(!) style chorus. More gig friendly, it’s easy to picture this being well received in the live arena. If we were being pedantic this is by no means unique, but nevertheless it’s extremely exciting stuff.
