More Taking Back Sunday

Opening with a rattling hi-hat you’d be forgiven if you thought you’d accidentally purchased a rustic ‘Sounds of The Railway’ cassette. In reality however, once ‘Liar’ gets under way, the only iota of similarity is the locomotive urgency Taking Back Sunday exude. This single is further evidence of their partnership with Eric Valentine (LostProphets), and his advice to reproduce the energy of a TBS live show in their studio work. Well it’s worked. Eager from the outset, ‘Liar,’ is three unrelenting minutes of urgent, plectrum scraping ‘scuzz’ rock. You won’t even notice the dark and twisted gloom of the lyrics as you’re ‘air-moshing’ along to your hearts content, and causing untold damage in the process.
