If the title, ‘You’re So Pretty, We’re So Pretty,’ sounds a little familiar, it’s because the track originally appeared on The Charlatans' 2001 album, ‘Wonderland.’ However, to coincide with the release of their singles retrospective, ‘You’re So Pretty, We’re So Pretty,’ has been re-jigged by Youth. The result is a more upbeat take on the original which evokes memories of the early 90’s dance roots of the band. Along with a stomping drumbeat (think a slower ‘Born Slippy’), Youth has extracted the gritty acid riff, put increased emphasis on the haunting keyboards and put Burgess’ “ohhwoohoo’s” on repeat to give the track real dance floor status. For the purists, the release also includes the original, yet the remix is equally as compelling.
