Glaswegian six piece Dananananaykroyd are the bastard child of the early eighties North Atlantic post punk divide marrying with sheer brilliance the intricacy and ingenuity of their UK heritage with the unadulterated aggression and intensity of its US hardcore cousin. ‘Some Dresses’ twists like Hot Club De Paris in the verses before thrashing like something released on SST through the chorus, creating a sound that’ll have the mosh pits throbbing and the indie dance floor bouncing all at the same time. B-side ‘Genuine lbs’ is a more straight forward affair - the vocals dead pan, the beats metronomic, the riffs somehow crunch and jangle at the same time. The name will no doubt get Dananananaykroyd noticed but the music will most definitely seal people’s love. Breathtaking.
