For a track that consists of simply a bass, maracas and two voices, Bat for Lashes' 'Trophy' is hugely effective. The accompaniment of Josh Pearson on backing vocals shows a sinister side to Natasha Khan's voice similar to that of Nick Cave and Kylie. The track is thin on the ground instrumentally but the two voices compensate for the lack of accompaniment so it's impossible to imagine it any other way. Typically magnificent stuff then from Ms Khan.
