The beginning of Ali Love's 'Camera on a Pole' is very much David Bowie's 'Heroes'. There's no doubt about the fact that the guitar riff is exactly the same, yet the melody line is just as catchy as Bowie himself with Love's vocals sounding comforting behind the rough guitar. Whereas on 'Rock'n' Roll Control' the song's transformed almost into The Gossip stripped dance as the synthesisers take the place of the guitar. Then 'Post Modern Blues' becomes an acoustic track with Love's voice suddenly changing again, but this time to folk for the beautiful ballad which the listener barely has time to relax into before the remix of 'K Hole' blasts a manic bass line into the speakers supported by the repetitive harsh vocals which leaves the listener thinking, is there nothing Ali Love can't do?
