More Ed Harcourt

With an intro frighteningly similar to something Keane would dream up, Ed Harcourt’s latest offering from album ‘The Beautiful Lie’ quickly sheds any such associations. He has penned a beautiful, piano-led anthem celebrating just about ever corner of society and inciting them to be passionate about the world around them. This is a true anthem, nothing like those Coldplay / Razorlight dirges that are labelled as such. At its climax this song incorporates some thunderous drums, and you can easily imagine huge crowds singing along to the “sha-na-na-na” ‘s and clapping in time. This song encapsulates Polyphonic Spree style audience participation and is uplifting and refreshing.
