This was a bit of a mistake. It’s what Tom’s mum might have mumbled to herself after the first ultrasound or what crossed his mind when he was coerced into snorting that line of milk of magnesia for the very first time. No the mistake, as you’re probably fast realising was putting ‘Nothing In My Way’ in my general listening direction. I steadfastly avoid daytime Radio 1 in a futile attempt to protect myself from indulgent acts of faux sincerity and musical banality that are Keane’s forte. ‘Nothing In My Way’ is straight from the ‘Bedshaped’ blueprint; ballad, epic sentiment, soaring chorus and will see it shift some units. Hopefully The Priory have a moral conscience and will put a little something in his way, like a padded wall, and get him sectioned for everyone’s benefit.
