"I am the Prince of Wales/And if all else fails/I am the Prince of Wales" - it’s quite the proclamation, especially from a band whose bassist answers to the name The House of Lords. If you haven’t as yet cocked your ear to the charming eccentricity of The Young Knives you’ve already missed their unofficial sunshine anthem ‘Hot Summer’, gate crashing of the charts and preference for bank clerks suits. Choice of attire aside, ‘The Decision’ is a magical little number of nonsensical proportions; "the horses in the new forest/Are running in their Sunday Best", sublime backing melodies and The Young Knives inescapably likeable quirkiness. Hopefully they’ll approve my loan as well.
