The Deftones’ success has been on the rise ever since they released the genre creating ‘Adrenaline’ all those years ago. They have not made one bad album nor has their fan base faltered by one member. There is a reason for that. They have continued to evolve their sound and constantly come up with classic track after classic track. ‘Hole In The Earth’ is no exception. Taking the vocal styli from the ‘Deftones’ album era with a little more digitised guitar work akin to the ‘White Pony’ stage yet coming up with an entirely new epic feel, makes this song easily one of their best. Ok, there are no trademark screeches from Moreno, but his vocal capabilities are on soaring form on this track, and the rest of the guys couldn’t sound better. ‘Saturday Night Wrist’ here we come baby!
