On paper, a broken-beat version of Yardbrough & Peoples' classic 80s soul-disco track 'Don’t Stop The Music' sounds disastrous at best. But, West London broken beat collective Bugz in the Attic have in fact done a blindingly infectious job of it which won’t fail to have discerning dancefloors moving. Taken from long overdue debut long player ‘Back in the Doghouse,’ the track features the blips, beeps and fractured bassline that we’ve become accustomed to from the troupe, as well as a sing-a-long chorus which sits alongside the bold synth stabs that mark the group out from their contemporaries. Additionally, broken beat and nu-jazz fans will be happy to hear that, amongst others, there are NSM and Unabombers remixes respectively. Large!
