Okay, before sticking The Boyfriends' ‘Once Upon A Time’ into the record player, this cynical ole hack made the promise to his smug self not to mention the ‘M word’ (You know that miserable vegan who sold his soul to the corporate scum at V Festival this summer). But lo and behold, the second line of the press release has MORRISSEY in bold letters. So **** the restraint - The Boyfriends have about as much originality as a Smiths tribute band and are about as exciting as a wet weekend in Skegness. Derivative really isn’t the word. Plagiarism more like. Frontman Martin Wallace should go on ****ing Stars in their Eyes where at least the Grannies would love him. We certainly don’t.
