Embrace are growing older it seems and ‘Target’ is testament to this. Their music has changed and certainly mellowed, but they still have a knack for producing a catchy epic feel. This is by no means classic Embrace but it is a damn sight better than their turgid World Cup anthem. It may plod its way home amid slow drums and lifeless singing but the half decent tune saves it from complete failure, with any luck they’ll realise this is too close to middle of the road territory and spruce their ideas up soon.
