Dead Disco have been causing quite a stir for a band that has been together just over a year. The Leeds art student trio have been hailed as one of the best new crossover bands about thanks to support by the Beeb’s Steve Lamacq and Xfm’s John Kennedy. The third release from these likely lasses sees them team up with producer James Ford (Clor, Mystery Jets) and tease and strut like only a woman can. ‘Automatic’ is a likeable slice of indie pop that is not unlike a shot of Aftershock, you don’t know why you like it but it just works. Ignore the self conscious attempts at being Debbie Harry’s long lost lovechild by lead singer Victoria Hesketh, and just revel in the fact three attractive women have found a musical outlet other than The X Factor.
