Following the critically acclaimed second album ‘Flock’, Bell X1 return with ‘Rocky Took A Lover’ a melting, delicate anthem featuring Paul Noonan’s dry and humorous lyrics including “If there is a God, then why is my arse the perfect height for kicking?”. However ‘Rocky’ is not a trivial song by any means, more a quintessential and broad statement of Bell X1’s song writing ability. Not that we would ever condone lighter waving (It is both a fire hazard and utterly embarrassing) but ‘Rocky’ is the very essence of the potent and chest swelling anthem required to have people reaching for their pockets ready to sway in time. Simply beautiful.
