Dashboard Confessional - ‘Don't Wait’ (Vagrant) Released 21/08/06

‘Don't Wait’ is the latest release from soft rock veterans Dashboard Confessional. A slow building number that play’s perfectly into the hands of US TV producers, close your eyes and imagine the final heart ripping explosive episode of (delete as appropriate) Dawson’s Creek, The OC, One Tree Hill et al and you can probably guess the rest. Adolescent tears, love, loss and understanding are what Dashboard Confessional are trying to get at here...hmmmm. Does it work? Not really. It’s basic, using tried and tested guitars, non committal backing and a pained vocal that can be bought from most Woolworth's bargain CD bin’s. Alternatively if you want to feel even more sorry for yourself after splitting up with a loved one...play on.
