Armed with relaxing strings, uplifting hooks and the sweetest of harmonies Captain are rapidly becoming one of the band to watch in 2006. With their debut album ‘This Is Hazelville’ being released in a fortnight they are set to command and conquer the mainstream. ‘Glorious’ is a perfect taster to wet the appetite for their imminent LP. Rik Flynn’s velvety vocals override haunting strings and smooth guitars creating an epic sound that will surely be devoured at this summer’s festivals. The fact the ‘sounds like’ section of their ‘myspace’ profile is blank sums up their attitude – Captain sound only like Captain. They are not interested in a scene or spouting out certain influences just because it’s hip. They’re here for the music and by this showing it won’t be long before they’re the ones influencing future bands.
