Layers. Lets talk about layers. Layers are a good thing. They keep you warm in the dark cold months of winter, they make Victoria sponges more interesting, they even give geologists a reason for living and they make Broken Social Scene’s latest 7” offering ‘Fire Eye‘d Boy’ a simmering piece of summertime goodness. Everything fits together with a ramshackle ease that sees all sixteen members of BSS running at different speeds but seemingly finishing up at the same point in time at the exact same moment. Dream cloud vocals are lost behind tiers of reverent percussion and guitars interwoven with the perfect never ending beat that makes our feet itch and fills your head with visions of the perfect indie mash up.
