The words Russian futurists in conjunction spark images of hairy blokes from Eastern Europe drinking Vodka whilst working on a time machine, brilliant you think. In reality they are just one man who goes by the name of Mathew Adam Hart, not Russian nor futuristic, we are not impressed. Luckily for Matthew his music is brilliant, like Wayne Coyne mixed with Blurs ‘Music Is My Radar’ ‘Paul Simon’ has a childlike innocence and as much innovation you can pack into 2 minutes 52 seconds. Epic orchestration, melodically seductive and more fun than your first school disco. What the ‘Futurists lack in the expensive pop gloss associated with modern pop they make up for with wit, emotion and beauty. We have tickets to Moscow, if only we had a flux capacitor!
