WinterKids decision to release a double A-side debut single is a double edged sword. On the on the one hand they get two shots at producing a classic indie-pop debut, while on the other the two songs they have here sound so similar in style and content it’s hard to pick them apart. Vocalist James Snider is a kind of half way house between Tom DeLonge and Brian Molko so he’s clearly in good company. ‘Fed Up’ is the stand out track between the two if only for the fantastic driving chorus layered out by distant female backing vocals. It’s a nice catchy start but a little too sugar coated for comfort unfortunately.
