Fields are a real rarity, a band that can sound epic and intimate at the same time. The lead track from their new EP ‘Brittlesticks’ showcases said sound to perfection, three and a half minutes of musical beauty. Duel vocalists Nick and Thorunn compliment each other while the band creates a sonic landscape for them to run amongst. The second track ‘Heretic’ is a more obscure effort, produced by The Scissor Sisters producer nonetheless! A trippy, woozy track with a wall of synths taking over during the chorus it’s an instant hit. ‘Isabel’ keeps up the quality even if it does drop the pace and the EP is rounded off exquisitely with ‘Roll Down The Hill’ which truly has to be heard to be believed. We don’t know which village these 4 tracks come from but Gigwise is going there straight away.
