




The fantastic 'I Made My Excuses and Left' has that haunting feeling, like someone snatched your phone at the pub when you went to the toilet. It’s a bit like Interpol but harder and faster. The vocals are reminiscent of Morrissey or Martin Rossiter. They are pretty impassioned and warrant attention like a martyr performing on top of the town centre cinema roof. At The Lake are bound to win a few hearts with this standard of output and the radio exposure they have already received is indicative of this. And if you ever get to hear this song more than once you may find yourself singing along...
