Shack - 'Cup of Tea' (Sour Mash) Released 26/06/06

So, if we're sticking to the beverage analysis then Shack's latest offering starts out life as a cup of Horlicks - warm, tame and the kind of drink to gently lull you to sleep.  Not a great start for the Liverpuddlians who have been plying their trade for 20 odd years.  But then things get shook up slightly. Life is suddenly injected into the number with the aid of vocal harmonies, a breezy summer mood and the always chipper use of some strategically placed "la, la's" helping the track to transform from the Horlicks your grandad drinks to a cup of tea downed by your dad - safe and comforting but a far cry from the more rock and roll Jack Daniels.
