Animal Collective are the Liars you wouldn’t be scared taking to meet your parents, the Architecture In Helsinki that aren’t yet certifiably insane. ‘Grass’, a re-released single from last year’s ‘Feels’ album, is an acid-soaked, deceptively rhythmic three-minute pop song that carries off the neat trick of sounding like the best bits of Can and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah while being, well, a three-minute pop song. As is the general rule with these yelping, scene-hopping, quite mad bands (see also: Arcade Fire), we can also pretty much guarantee they will be amazing live. With great timing, Animal Collective tour in July.
