‘Trans Canada Highway’ is a truly sublime six track EP from the mighty Boards of Canada. Led by ‘Dayvan Cowboy’ a lilting, beautiful tune gently powered by ambient almost gramophone-esque plaintive riff, before it transgresses into an optimistic opus midway through, it’s the perfect opener to a lovely collection of songs. A true highlight from their understated yet gorgeous third album ‘The Campfire Headphase.’ Elsewhere, the organic ‘Left Side Down’ takes you on a pleasant journey, ‘Skyliner’ is positively heavens-bound, ‘Under The Coke Sign’ simmers and shimmers, while the Odd Nasam's take on the lead track strips the heart out of the original and replaces it with swathes of electronic static. Lovely.
