Yorkshire quartet Dead Disco's new download only single ‘City Place’ mixes sultry basslines, pop hooks and synths that are more 80s than Knight Rider. Sounding at times like Girls Alouds angry teenage sister the crooning vocals add a touch of glamour to proceedings. This fits in well with the current crop of female fronted bands like the Long Blondes, The Pippettes and the Hot Puppies, but Blondie it definitely isn’t. Nothing out of the ordinary, but definitely worth an extra listen.
