Calling your song ‘Hate Me You Do’ is a dangerous move, like Kelly Osbourne calling her first single ‘Shut Up’ but luckily The Rumble Strips have enough eccentric charm to get them off the hook. ‘Hate Me’ starts off sounding a bit like what you imagine a cockney knees up round the old ‘Joanna’ to sound like, all foot stomping, saxophone filled clatter. You get the feeling Rumble Strips are very honest about their music, it isn’t quirky for the sake of it, the thing is it’s not very good either. It lacks anything exciting or particularly interesting, it’s just mildly interesting. Hate you? No but we don’t really like you either.
