Does anybody else think Orson have been created by Maroon 5’s management to make them look more credible? Surely a band can’t be naturally this contrived. Ironically the band are named after a sandwich named the Orson Welles, suffice to say it was filled with cheese. Admittedly ‘Bright Idea’ isn’t a bad tune, it’s indistinguishable from previous single ‘No Tomorrow’ but like that it’s catchy and instantly hummable. The problem with Orson is its all feels so unnatural, as if they have been crafted and moulded by some Simon Cowell junior in a suit. At least Girls Aloud are honest. The worst thing about this is the crushing inevitability that it will go straight into the top 5.
