Mocky - 'Fighting Away The Tears' (Fine) Released 03/04/06

Featuring the sultry vocal talents of Broken Social Scene’s Feist, Mocky’s ‘Fighting Away The Tears’ is a quite lovely, chilled pop nugget to welcome the coming warmer months ahead. Having previously worked with the likes of Jamie Lidell and Taylor Savvy on the summer anthem ‘Catch A Moment In Time, Mocky sure knows how to pick his guest vocalists and the lead vocalist is the real star here. Jazz-tinged unrushed instrumentals glide along nicely, but it’s in Feist’s sonorous singing that the real strength of the track lies, managing to sound both forlorn and optimistic at the same time. Lovely stuff.
