Once in a while you hear a new band who leave you wide eyed with a sneaky feeling that you’ve discovered a secret that’s going to change the world. Mixing swirling synths with a dash of Spector-esque harmonies, glamorous new Leeds band Dead Disco have ignited that feeling, as they sparkle on their debut single from High Voltage records. Jarring guitar chords punch out the intro until Victoria Hesketh’s seductive vocal begins a morbidly fascinating tale of date-rape. Team Elastica with Blondie - this is sexy, electro-pop at it’s finest, and if the songs we’ve heard are anything to go by, the album will be a stomper too.
