More The Waking Eyes

‘But I Already Have It’, the second single from Canada’s The Waking Eyes, is once again a catchy, wiry slab of pop-punk that gnaws away at you until there’s no escape. It’s not great by a long stretch with its overstated power hooks, fiery vocals and formulaic quiet/loud bits, but somehow it comes together just right. Fair play to the band for the shite production too – conforming to the ‘sounds like it was recorded in a garage’ cliché, it actually adds a bit of allure to the song. Shame about the über naff b-side ‘Move On’ though. Terrible.
