Irish favourites Bell X1 return with this taster from their imminent ‘Flock’ album and, judging by this slinky little number, the new long player should have record buyers flocking to the shops! Ahem. This reviewer probably should leave the humour to the Bell-boys, as ‘Flame’ is a hook-ridden tongue-in-cheek disco inferno with a fine line in, er, lines: ‘I wanna be near you and blink in your light/And toast marshmallows on a cold dark night’ they chant like a pissed-up Bloodhound Gang crashing a Talking Heads rehearsal. Witty, catchy, funky, what more do you want? A Chicken Lips remix? You got it!
