Perhaps electroclash is pop music’s equivalent of communism: a great idea in theory that never really caught on. The Modern may well be the genre’s Fidel Castro though. A great example of how such things are done properly, their Human League male/female vocal interplay is tailor made for school disco dance routines. With sheeny synths and retro handclaps, ‘Industry’ is a ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ for the fashionista crowd. But The Modern won’t mind that description. They’re unashamedly glossy pop, and all the better for it. You can keep up to date with all the latest news from Gigwise by following us on Twitter and liking us on Facebook.
