Love em or hate em, it would seem Fightstar really are here to stay. As much as everybody loves to see a hero fall (we use the term ‘hero’ loosely here) it never fails to surprise as to what Charlie can pull out of his bag of tricks. Precursor to their debut album ‘Grand Unification’, new single ‘Waste A Moment’ is actually quite…decent. It’s dark, dangerously heavy, broody and catchy, everything we’ve come to expect from these lads so far. As Fightstar are increasingly showing that they are able to stand up against other metal acts, this excellently crafted tune is yet another mature step for the band as they are ever closer to throwing away the shackles of a member’s past life. As each single is surprisingly better than the last, one can only hope that their debut LP will deliver.
