Goldfrapp - 'Ride A White Horse' (Mute) Released 13/02/06

The electro-pop maestros Goldfrapp continue their sonic assault with the quite fantastic ‘Ride A White Horse’. The inimitable Alison gives us sultry, strutting verses and an irresistible breathy chorus, all set to swathes of electronic noises – much as we’ve come to expect from the band, then. Of course no Goldfrapp single would be complete without a tidy remix package and the highlight here is definitely the Ewan Pearson dancefloor gem. Not quite sure what’s going on with the DFA mix of ‘Slide In’ though – a bit of a wet lemon. Still the cowbells are nice.
