Preston (the place, not the Celebrity Big Brother bloke) isn’t exactly a hot bed of musical talent, since Cornershop’s ‘Brimful Of Asha’ seemingly disappeared into the Lancashire night, so apart from that bird from Atomic Kitten it's been about as exciting as a morgue for new acts, The KBC however are set to change that. Throwing sharper riffs than Pete Burns’ tongue around some achingly danceable baselines ‘Pride Before The Fall’ thrives on an incessant drum beat like a poppier, more pristine version of The Longcut. It’s the kind of track that have the kids cutting some rug on the dance floor all night long. ‘Poisonous Emblem’ on the other hand is the darker side of the moon, brooding with a slight ska groove and some shimmering drums through the chorus. The whole thing soars with the help of the reverberating vocals. Looks like the Red Rose is on the rise. Top!
