Being multi of instruments and members is generally a sound indicator of quirkiness and invention these days, or at least pretensions of it. The Fallout Trust are a six-piece from East London and with ‘Washout’ they have certainly created something inventive and odd. Musically at least though this is not way out in the left-field. For it’s simple driving guitar chords that largely create this infectious, engaging track. That along with odd lyrics about babies “being born face down.” There’s the same slightly unhinged pop sense found in the Zutons on display and it certainly makes you want to hear more from the group.
