With a jock-friendly single and some sporty mixes, 'Muscle Car' is a poppy/indie/housey affair with bleeping and pulsing digi-funk electronics to stir the schleppers, chorus lyrics singing "well oiled - that's what you are, come on and ride in my muscle car", references to motoring arcana and burning rubber - it's a tidy piece of 80's styled nostalgia, Human League-esque harmonies icing the cake. Elsewhere, Tiga turns a little mind-bender of a mix with slow drum machine intro an a lovely restrained acid-sequencer which loops and lassoos the spine enough to get the steam rising, with some 80's sounding keyboards as tinkled by Depeche Mode. Sander Kleinenberg cuts a thrust with the lower frequencies being wanged up and more of the dirgier elements to the fore, noodly electronics skating on top - maybe more of a warm-up track. DJ T keeps his room tidy with digi sequencers highlighted, lifted by a driving bass, hastier bpm and inventive shrill whistling sounds - a mix to keep the crowd from sitting it out.
