Wolf & Cub - 'Steal Their Gold/Thousand Cuts' (4AD) Released 28/11/05

Wolf & Cub are the kind of band that will make you think ‘Where have you been all my life?’ after your very first listen. ‘Steal Their Gold’ cuts through you like finger nails on a blackboard with a host of searing, wiry guitars and taut, yelping vocals. But it is the brilliant ‘Thousand Cuts’ that truly gets the adrenalin flowing. Think the cutting riffs of Bloc Party but far superior with the added power of DFA 1979 and your close to describing the sonic assault that it is. It full on rips through two minutes with breathless simplicity and leaves you wanting more. We just hope it comes sooner rather than later.
