Liars return and give us something that there just isn’t enough of in the world of pop today, a 14th Century requiem full of pounding drums, eerie chanting and ethereal organs that are hell bent on raising some sort of devil from its sound waves. The lyrics, as usual, are indecipherable as the trio lament about “battleships” on “crystalline seas” and “jumping the neighbours fence” but no matter for ‘It Fit When I Was A Kid’ is a piece of quirky, off the wall brilliance that will leave half of listeners wondering what just happened and the other half ready to don their ceremonial gowns. Masonic hardcore anyone?!
