'Twenty Four Hours' in the life of Athlete, could you imagine it?! It must be something akin to living in a monastery without the added joy of wearing one of those fetching brown hooded tunics. For Athlete are nice boys who do not partake in any intoxification of their bodies. Having said that, this ‘Twenty Four Hours’ is one of their better offerings of late. Yes, its still achingly middle of the road and sentimental but occasionally it does rise above that with a tender melody and the pervading feeling of hope throughout its lyrics. Then again it could be even better with a few drug inspired crushing rock riffs interspersed throughout.
