Sony Ericsson Proud Gallery in Camden celebrates trotting up the road from unsalubrious Greenland Road to the much loved Stables Market with a glittering relaunch, featuring punk-popsters Towers Of London and a splendid photographic exhibition of The Bravery and The Kaiser Chiefs - all under the aptly named banner: Levi's Ones To Watch.
Tonight, Proud, legendary for spiffingly rock 'n' roll exhibitions such as Dennis Morris' Sex Pistols, enter a new phase of wondrousness, with XFM's John Kennedy kicking off a vibrant, shouty set by The Towers in the gallery's swanky marquee.
In a nutshell, their's is a sound that makes Gigwise feel happy and at peace. Shamelessly Ramones-esque and sporting haircuts from Hell, they are responsible for taking melodic punk in their hot little hands and modernising it for tender 21st century ears, particularly with their explosive new single '**** It Up'.
You didn't really believe the drongo who declared that Punk was dead, did you? Nah. It was just having a little nap. But the Towers have shaken it awake at last and thank **** for that. Start putting pennies for when Towers Of London's '**** It Up' is released for your delectation and delight.
Meanwhile, Levi's Ones To Watch is open between 10am - 7pm Monday -Thursday and 11am - 6pm Friday to Sunday.
The tight bastards among you will be relieved to know it's free, free, free! Stare at the North London skyline from Proud's gleaming upper floor! Thumb through the arty books in your bid to look bohemian and interesting! Gawp at The Kaisers and The Bravery! Boys in eyeliner - good. Generally.
