For a band that have yet to release a single Brother have certainly made quite a name for themselves. Hailing from Slough, the band have split most of the music industry in half. With their uncanny resemblance to early 90s Brit Pop, or 'grit pop' as they like to be called, it is very clear you will either love them or hate them.
Playing what seems a stepping stone to festival season Brother have sold-out their London gig at the Borderline. In an audience that consists mainly of men in polo shirts and parker jackets, the place is packed out with all media types wanting to get a look at the so called next 'biggest band in the world'.
Joined on stage by a Rowetta lookalike, the lads, dressed in some classic clobber broke into 'Still Here' followed by the irresistibly catchy 'New Years Day'. Despite all the word of mouth Brother are certainly a band that have tailored their songs to a perfect audience.
Finishing off their 25 minute set with their debut single 'Darling Buds Of May', High St Low Lives', 'David' and 'Time Machine', its possible even the most ardent non-Brother fan would be turned.
These band have it sussed. With their debut album produced by Stephen Street, who has worked with The Smiths and Blur, their radio friendly teenage anthems will be everywhere when the summer hits - whether you like it or not.
