Back on the scene once again, Peaches returns with an album more raw than grazed genitals, an album title that could upset your dad, and a lyrical content probably more suited to feedback column in a XXX porn magazine. She ‘ain’t toned it down, in case you where wondering…

The albums opener ‘I Don’t Give A…” is a cute little charmer, a lesson in how good she can make the words "****" and "shit" sound over and over again, without sounding like she wants to be in The Slits. This album slowly reveals itself as an attractive push against the grain and a testament to those who have inspired her along the way. From the aforementioned Joan Jett sample ‘I don’t give a damn about reputation’ (which starts the record) to her duet with Iggy Pop on the the song ‘Kick It’ with inspired lyrics like "I heard you like kinky shit - that just depends who I’m with".

The music and lyrics are taken further with Father****er than the previous 'Teaches of Peaches' album (which initially attracted a cross section of hip-hoppers, gay-bar goers, headbangers and punks alike) this new record is preaching to the converted with huge ferocity. ‘Operate’ is cleverly pieced together with a mouth watering hip hop beat, synths, and crunchy guitars neatly placed with a spine chilling chorus line "he’s not dead he’s gonna live/he’s not dead he’s gonna live/I see his eyes roll in the back of his head" and even on songs like ‘Shake Your Dix’ she provokes even more with lines like "sh-sh-sh-shake your dicks/sh-sh-sh-shake your tits/are the mutha****ers ready for the father****ers?"

This album is a total groundbreaker. Father****er is a state of mind more than a collection of songs, an embodiment of sexual freedom, an attitude and more than anything, a concept. In a music world filled with silly nostalgia, revivals and backward thinking, Peaches is the only thing that makes any sense.
