Yes, despite being banged up in prison, the kid is back and this time he’s checked out of the hotel and on to the streets. Cassidy’s latest release brings back the aggression that rap has been missing for a minute (apart from in the south of course).
The opening intro displays Cassidy’s musical versatility when his latest alter-ego ‘The Hustla’ goes head to head in a lyrical bout with previous identity ‘The Problem’. Lines like, “Who wrote your shit, Mase?/The album was nothing like the shit on the mixtapes” and “First you was hustlin’ and bustin’ them shells/then you went commercial to get a couple of sales” prove that Cassidy has grown as an artist, he’s taken what people have said to him over the last few years and used it to his advantage.
'B-Boy Stance' is sure to blow up in clubs everywhere just because the crazily clad Swizz Beatz production is totally addictive. From the moment it gets thrown on in the clubs don’t be surprised if you see people attempting their best Kurtis Blow impression. Nas has been quoted to have said that Cassidy is one of his favourite MC’s in the game right now, so it’s no surprise to see him included on the melodically pleasing 'Can’t Fade Me' along with Quan. Raekwon, Lil’ Wayne and Fabolous are a few of the other artists featured on the album but it’s Cass who continues to shine from start to finish. He’s a hustla and if you don’t know… ask about him.
